Daniel
Gregory is a Chartered Accountant with strengths in developing and managing
businesses and creating strategies that focus on the bottom line. Dan has
extensive experience in raising equity and in managing financial and business
transactions, in both domestic and international environments. As VP-Corporate
Development for a Houston based private holding company, whose goal was to
consolidate various fragmented industries in Canada, Dan developed acquisition
plans, generated targets and raised financing from both Canadian and US
mezzanine sources for acquisitions, resulting in reduced shareholder capital
requirements. As a CFO consultant with over 20 years of “hands on” experience, Dan has an outstanding track record with a diverse business background in Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, and Operations Management. Through a series of acquisitions, Dan developed a successful retail pharmacy chain with minimal shareholder capital requirements. Responsibilities included managing inventory, cash management, bank relationships, and implement and monitor accounting software system including EDI, which resulted in increased profitability for each location. He lead head office accounting staff and store personnel through changes caused by high growth. Dan
also developed and managed a consolidation program in Canada aimed at highly
fragmented industries that resulted in attracting $200 million in revenues in
the pharmacy industry for a rollout program. He obtained agreement with founding
members resulting in revenues of $80 million for commencement of rollup strategy
aimed at an IPO. As a Partner in a Chartered Accounting firm, Dan advised CEOs, CFOs and Boards of Directors concerning financial reporting, management, and developed successful growth strategies and raised bank financing for many of his clients. Some key areas
of client service provided by Dan have included:
CFO responsibilities as a key member of the senior management team for
expansion of a multi-national manufacturing and distribution company;
providing financial management and strategic planning to a high growth
international restaurant chain; and on-going CFO consulting, including Board of
Directors mentorship, to a very successful software development company
specializing in accounting system solutions and e-commerce. Dan is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Bachelor of Commerce program and is currently registered to write the U.S. CPA exam. Dan also teaches an E-Commerce course in Toronto.
